We have seen several Bollywood actors who kept their relationships under the wrap for a long time but ultimately their love affairs came out and made headlines. The same happened with Bollywood ace actor Mithun Chakraborty and gorgeous actress Sridevi. Even after their relationship came out to light, they kept denying the alleged love affair and thrashed the reports that claimed they married secretly. But because of their love close attitude, we never got to know the truth behind Mithun and Sridevi’s affair.
If the reports are true then the relationship between Mithun and Sridevi started way back in the late 80s. While Sridevi was establishing herself, Mithun was already a renowned actor and was married to his wife Yogeeta Bali. Before tying knots with Yogeeta, Mithun was married to actress and model Helena Luke.
The couple allegedly first met at a professional event and felt the spark they ever searched for. Soon they started dating and this dating led to their secret wedding.
According to the reports, they were married from 1985 to 1988, eight years before Sridevi married Boney. Mithun and Boney were good friends from the start but their friendship got a little sour when Boney came in the way of their alleged wedding.
In between the reports of their romance, a report came out that claimed that Mithun forced Sridevi to tie Rakhi on Boney’s wrist as proof that nothing is going on between them.
Later, when Yogeeta got to know about Sridevi-Mithun's marriage, she allegedly attempted suicide. However, Yogeeta told a leading daily, "I will accept it even if he has a second wife."
Reports say that at this point, Sridevi got to know that Mithun was not divorced as he claimed and was still married to Yogeeta. Soon, Sridevi allegedly got her marriage to Mithun annulled and broke up in 1988 ever since she got to know the disco dancer would never hurt or leave Yogeeta.
