The BMW X7 is the flagship SUV from the German automaker and features a new design language and more importantly, the biggest kidney grille ever seen on any BMW product ever. The BMW X7 is 9 inches longer than the BMW X6 and just barely 3 inches shorter than a regular wheelbase BMW 7 Series making it the biggest SUV ever made by the carmaker. In June, BMW India launched the X7 Dark Shadow Edition at Rs 2.02 crore (ex-showroom). The fact that only 500 units of the Dark Shadow Edition are made makes it even more special. Based on the range-topping M50d variant, it features a Frozen Arctic Grey body shade with gloss black exterior elements. The dark theme extends inside as well with dual-tone blue-black upholstery. However, the stock X7 is still a classy vehicle that does not fail to impress the public eye. Here is everything you need to know about the BMW X7:

1. The X7 is offered in just three variants in India starting with the xDrive30d DPE at Rs 92.50 lakh. The DPE Signature variant is priced at Rs 1.02 crore and the xDrive40i M Sport petrol variant is priced at Rs 1.06 crore (all prices are ex-showroom, India).

2. The xDrive40i range is powered by a 340hp, 3.0-litre straight-six petrol engine and the 30d whose 265hp 3.0 diesel powers from a diesel engine launches the SUV from 0-100kph in a brisk 7 seconds. The X7 is not lithe or agile like a smaller SUV but is nevertheless happy to change direction. The X7’s dimensions can be overwhelming in town but the multiple cameras and auto park feature sure come in handy.

3. Move over to the side, and the massive alloy wheels and strong shoulder line do well to hide the bulk of this Beemer. Things are quite simple at the rear as well, where the slender LED taillamps and a sporty bumper keep things balanced. The BMW X7's petrol derivative is expected to promise a fuel-efficiency figure of around 12 km/l. On the other hand, the diesel derivative of the X7 is likely to offer a mileage of close to 15 km/l.

4. BMW offers the X7 with features like BMW Live Cockpit Professional, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, adaptive air suspension on both axles, two 10.2-inch full HD screens in the second row, a 16-speaker Harmon Kardon music system, a panoramic sunroof, Parking Assistant Plus with Surround View Camera, a Reversing Assistant, six airbags as well as Dynamic Stability Control that includes Corner Braking Control.

5. The list of feature does not end here. It also has laser lights, captain's chairs for the middle row, 5-zone climate control and a rear-seat entertainment system are among the features that are standard fit on the 30d but available only as paid options on the 40i. BMW's display key, 360-degree camera and soft-close doors are also exclusive to the 30d diesel.
