India is the land of cinema, which works on the fascinating world of Bollywood. The marvelous Bollywood industry is one of the largest and most celebrated film industries in the world. We Indians are born Bollywood buffs, we live, eat, sleep movies, then we wake up and repeat the cycle. The Bollywood industry has existed for 100 years now and has established many world records. Mentioned here are 14 records that have been registered by the 'Guinness World Records' honoring our films and film personalities for their achievements.

1. Kumar Sanu: Recording 28 songs in a day The Bollywood music maestro Kumar Sanu made this record in 1993 when he recorded 28 songs in a day for a bunch of different movies.

2. Kapoor Family: The largest screen family in the world Twenty-four members of the Kapoor extended family have acted in films since Prithviraj Kapoor first took to the screen in 1929. He was followed into acting by his three sons, Raj, Shammi, and Shashi, and other relatives. Bollywood actors Ranbir Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, and Karishma Kapoor have been a part of this record from 1999.

3. Bahubali – The Beginning: World’s largest poster SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali: The Beginning shattered previous records by making the Baahubali of all posters for promotions. The massive film poster was more than 50, 000 sq ft and covered an area of 4793.65 m² (51,598.21 ft²).

4. Asha Bhosle: Most recorded artist in the world Indian legendary singer Asha Bhosle made the Guinness Book of World record for the most recorded artist in music history in 2011. She has recorded more than 11,000 songs in 20 Indian languages since 1947.

5. Kaho Na Pyaar Hai: Most number of awards for a commercial movie Hrithik Roshan’s debut Bollywood film was a super hit, but it isn’t what you would call stellar cinema. But, despite that, the film holds a Guinness World Record for winning a total of 92 awards!

6. Ashok Kumar: Longest acting career Bollywood veteran actor Ashok Kumar holds the record of having the longest acting career. Since making his acting debut in 1936 he has acted in 63 movies.

7.Lalita Pawar: Bollywood actress with the longest film career Lalita Pawar acted continuously for 70 years. She made her debut at the age of 12 and appeared in more than 700 films.

8. PK: Highest grossing Bollywood movie. PK, starring Aamir Khan, swiftly became the most successful Indian film of all time following its release in December 2014 with a total worldwide gross of 6.22 billion INR, or $101.2 million (£67.4 million) as of January 2015.

9. Jagdish Raj: Most typecast actor The late actor Jagdish Raj actually holds a Guinness World Record for being the most typecast actor. He played the role of a cop in as many as 144 films.

10. Sameer Anjaan: Most profilic Bollywood songwriter One of the more elusive celebrities of Bollywood, lyricist Sameer Anjan, holds a record for penning as many as 3524 songs as of December 2015.
