The top most successful companies and businesses across the world have one thing in common and that is the Indian mind leading the company. Today, there are a number of top tech companies being ruled by an Indian-origin-CEO. From Sundar Pichai, Satya Nadella to the most recent example of Parag Agrawal, Indian techies are making India proud around the globe. When it’s about techies, India remains the first choice for top businesses in Silicon Valley. “If we stop employing foreign engineers, especially from India, then there will be another Microsoft born in India,” said co-founder of Microsoft, Bill Gates. Here is the list of top 10 Indian-origin CEOs flourishing their respective companies across the world.

Sundar Pichai, Alphabet Inc An IIT –Kharagpur graduate, Pichai Sundararajan commonly known as Sundar Pichai is probably the most common name one recalls, when there’s a mention of Indian-origin CEOs leading the companies across the world. He was appointed as the CEO of Google in 2015 and later in 2019 was appointed as CEO of Alphabet Inc, parent company to Google.

Satya Nadella, Microsoft Satya Nadella was born in Hyderabad and studied electrical engineering at Mangalore University. He was appointed as the Chief Executive Chairman and CEO of Microsoft in 2014. In 1992, Nadella joined Microsoft as a young engineer.

Parag Agrawal, Twitter The latest in the list is an IIT Bombay graduate, Parag Agrawal who became the CEO of Twitter in 2021, replacing Jack Dorsey. Earlier Parag was serving as Twitter’s chief technology officer.

Arvind Krishna, IBM The IIT-Kanpur graduate Arvind Krishna became the CEO of IBM in 2020 and later became the Chairman in 2021.

Raj Subramaniam, FedEx Raj Subramaniam is a President and Chief Executive Officer of FedEx Corporation. FedEx is one of the world’s largest transportation companies with annual revenue of $92 billion.

Leena Nair, Chanel Leena Nair became the first woman and youngest Global CEO of Chanel in December 2021 succeeding Alain Wertheimer. . Earlier, Nair was the Chief Human Resource Officer in Unilever. She was born in Kolhapur and is an alumnus of the XLRI- Xavier School of Management and Walchand College of Engineering.

Shantanu Narayen, Adobe Inc. Shantanu was appointed as the CEO of Adobe Inc. in December 2007. Earlier he served Adobe as president and chief operating officer. Narayen was born in Hyderabad and studied at Osmania University, later he went to Bowling Green State University and University of California for further studies.

C. S Venkatakrishnan, Barclays Coimbatore Sundararajan Venkatakrishnan became the CEO of Barclays, a British multinational universal bank. He replaced Jes Staley. Born in Mysore, Venkatakrishnan received his education from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Rangarajan Raghuram, VMware Rangarajan Raghuram was appointed as the CEO of VMware, a cloud computing company, on June 1 2021. Earlier he served as chief operating officer for products and Cloud services of VMware.

Sonia Syngal, Gap Sonia Syngal was appointed as the CEO of Gap on March 23 2020. She joined the company in 2004 and has played numerous leadership roles since then.
