Instead of a conventional step-through layout, the scooter adopts a central spine design and comes with flat seats for both the rider and pillion. Its vertically stacked headlamp is integrated into the apron, while the 5-inch TFT instrument cluster is also apron-mounted rather than attached to the handlebar. At the rear, the bodywork stops short of the wheel, creating a bobber-inspired appearance, complemented by LED tail lamps and a tyre hugger. Buyers can choose between Crystal White and Platinum Grey paint schemes.

The TFT display offers Bluetooth connectivity, enabling smartphone pairing along with call and message notifications, navigation and map projection. Keeway has equipped the Hypevolt-R with a wide range of safety and convenience technologies, including keyless go, traction control, dual-channel ABS, hill-hold assist, hill-descent control, intelligent cruise control, reverse mode and a reverse camera with blindspot detection. The scooter also gets a selection of ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) features.

Power comes from two removable 5 kWh battery packs that deliver a claimed riding range of 180 k. The batteries can be charged either while fitted to the scooter or separately, reaching 80 per cent charge from empty in 3 hours.

The Hypevolt-R runs on 14-inch alloy wheels at both ends, shod with 100/80-section tyres at the front and 120/70-section tyres at the rear. It offers 130 mm of ground clearance, a seat height of 770 mm and 27 litres of underseat storage. Braking duties are handled by disc brakes at both the front and rear, while the suspension setup comprises telescopic front forks and twin rear shock absorbers.
