Saudi Crown Prince: No Diplomatic Relations with Israel Without Palestinian State

He said this during an address during the opening of the first year of the ninth session of the Saudi Shura Council on Wednesday, emphasizing that the issue remained at the top of Saudi's agenda, Xinhua news agency quoted Saudi Press Agency as reporting.

Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud said Saudi Arabia would not have diplomatic relations with Israel except in case there were an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.

He said this during an address during the opening of the first year of the ninth session of the Saudi Shura Council on Wednesday, emphasizing that the issue remained at the top of Saudi's agenda, Xinhua news agency quoted Saudi Press Agency as reporting.

The crown prince stated, "We emphasize once again the kingdom's denial and strong condemnation of the Israeli occupation authority's crimes against the Palestinian people, disregarding international and humanitarian laws."
He thanked countries for recognizing the Palestinian state in his name and on behalf of Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud; he appealed to other countries to follow this course of action.

The crown prince continued by saying at the address that the Kingdom is ready to cooperate with all engaged nations worldwide.

"We believe that it is a task of working together for a brighter future that will ensure the well-being of humanity and the preservation of our common civilisational values. That should be founded on mutual respect for the independence and values of countries, on observance of good-neighbourly relations and non-interference in domestic affairs, and solutions to conflicts by peaceful means," he said.

On developing the kingdom, the crown prince said that the country has gone a long way toward progress "during this transformative period", with non-oil activities accounting for 50 percent of last year's real GDP.
