Over 1 lakh pilgrims perform Amarnath Yatra

According to the officials, over 24,000 yatris had ‘Darshan’ on Monday after pilgrims from the two base camps were allowed to move towards the cave shrine as the weather improved in the Kashmir Valley. The movement of yatris was halted for three days due to the closure of Jammu-Srinagar highway as a result of inclement weather.

Bad news for air travellers: Ticket prices to soar as fuel prices rise

"Flying will be more expensive for consumers, without doubt", he said, adding that the "high price of oil" will be "reflected in higher ticket prices". Due to the rise in fuel prices, domestic and international air fares in India have witnessed a surge by up to 50% in the last few months.
International travel advisory for Indians evacuated from Ukraine revised

Indian nationals being evacuated from Ukraine have been exempted from the mandatory Covid requirements for international arrivals, it was announced on Monday. The Union Health Ministry on Monday revised the International Travel Guidelines, in collaboration with the Ministries of External Affairs, Civil Aviation, and Home to lend support in evacuating Indians from Ukraine.
India improves global passport rank, Japan-Singapore top list, Pak among worst

As per the report, Japan and Singapore top the list of being the most powerful passports in the world for the year 2022. The visa-free score of both countries is at 192. Afghanistan (rank 111) and Iraq (rank 110) continue to be in the 'worst passports to hold' category having a visa-free score of 26 and 28 respectively. Pakistan's passport is fourth among the worst or least powerful passports.
Ban on international passenger flights extended till Sep 30

The ban was previously extended till the end of August. In a circular on Sunday, the civil aviation regulator said: "The competent authority has further extended the validity of circular issued on the subject cited above regarding Scheduled International commercial passenger services to/from India till 2359 hrs IST of September 30, 2021." It added that this restriction shall not apply to international all-cargo operations.
New India will not put pressure on athletes to win medals: PM Modi to Paralympians

Delhi Metro, DTC buses to operate at 100% capacity

Till now, operations were allowed with 50 per cent capacity in view of the Covid pandemic. However, with the fall in the number of cases, the restrictions have been eased. Officials said on Saturday that even as Delhi Metro has been allowed to run at 100 per cent capacity, no standing passenger will be allowed. It has also been decided to open cinemas, theatres and multiplexes in the national capital with 50 per cent capacity.
