In a brief statement prior to the debate on the fall of his fourth government in The Hague, Rutte stated that he will no longer be available as leader of his People's Party for Freedom and Democracy (VVD) in the next elections slated to take place later this year, reports Xinhua news agency. 

The Netherlands will not allow more diplomats to work at the Russian Embassy in the Hague than the number of diplomats who work at the Dutch Embassy in Moscow, Foreign Minister Wopke Hoekstra was quoted by Xinhua news agency as saying. About 10 employees of the Russian Embassy will have to leave the Netherlands, he said.

At the National Archives in the Hague, Rutte told organisations advocating for recognition of the consequences of slavery that the Dutch government has enabled, encouraged, maintained and benefited from slavery for centuries,reports Xinhua news agency.

The media report cited evidence that the "overseas service stations", which promise to provide diplomatic services, are being used to try to silence Chinese dissidents in Europe. A spokesperson for the Dutch Foreign Ministry said the existence of the unofficial police outposts is illegal, the BBC reported.

The Russian ambassador was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Hague and informed of the decision on Tuesday, Xinhua news agency reported.m The ministry said in a statement that the measure had been taken "in the context of national security." The move followed information from the Dutch intelligence that the 17 diplomats were "secretly active as intelligence officers," it said.

Just like the previous one, the new coalition government consists of Rutte's People's Party for Freedom and Democracy (VVD), the Christian Democratic Appeal (CDA), the centre-leftist party Democrats 66 (D66) and the smaller centrist party the Christian Union (CU), reports Xinhua news agency. According to Rutte, his new group of ministers is not comparable with the previous one and has "new impetus".

In a statement on Saturday, the police said that the incident occurred at around 11 p.m. on Friday in the Ferdinand Bol street near the city centre. A 29-year-old man from Amstelveen has been arrested as the suspect. The police are investigating the incident and keeping all options open.

The decision on Friday was prompted by possible blood clotting problems as a side effect of the vaccine, reports Xinhua news agency. Earlier on in the day, the Lareb side effects centre reported that after injecting some 400,000 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine, five reports have been received concerning women aged 25-65 who developed thrombosis in combination with a reduced platelet count.
