In their affidavits submitted to the highest judicial body, the pair expressed their unwavering commitment to uphold the sanctity of law and justice. They pledged to refrain from making any public statements that could contravene the assurances previously provided to the Supreme Court in November of the preceding year.

Justices Hima Kohli and Ahsanuddin Amanullah expressed strong displeasure at the company and Balkrishna's failure to respond to earlier notices from the court, which questioned why contempt proceedings shouldn't be initiated against them for apparently breaching their commitments to the court.

A bench presided over by Justice Bela M. Trivedi stated, “The respondents-accused could not have claimed statutory rights of default bail under Section 167(2) of Criminal Procedure Code(Cr.P.C) on the ground that investigation for other accused was pending.”

During the proceedings, the court noted an adjournment request made on Kochhar's behalf and questioned the continuation of her interim bail.

The Supreme Court, in a recent session, adopted a firm stance on pleas urging an investigation into the operations of Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) and the State Bank of India (SBI).

Expressing skepticism, the bench, which included Justices J.B. Pardiwala and Manoj Misra, emphasized the significance of material evidence casting doubt on the Securities and Exchange Board of India's (SEBI) investigations, a statutory body entrusted with probing stock market violations.

The Supreme Court noted that the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) cannot be expected to base its findings on newspaper reports.

In addition to this, the court issued directives to address the concerns of homebuyers as well as the Noida and Greater Noida authorities.

As a bench of Justices Aniruddha Bose and Bela M Trivedi heard the plea, Justice Trivedi asked Additional Solicitor General S.V. Raju, appearing for the CBI, that why the Bombay High Court bail order of January 9, granting bail for two weeks only, was still continuing.

As per the details available on the official website of the apex court, a bench headed by CJI D.Y. Chandrachud is likely to take up the pleas for hearing on September 15.
