SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Saturday announced that Kane Williamson will take over captaincy from David Warner for the remainder of the Indian Premier League (IPL) season. Warner led SRH in the first six matches. The franchise lost five of those matches and is at the bottom of the points table.

SRH lost to KKR by 10 runs in their first Indian Premier League (IPL) match of the season. KKR scored 187/6 batting first and Warner said that the was surprised by the amount of runs they managed to get considering the conditions at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium.
