Expressing gratitude to her constituents for their unwavering support throughout her tenure, Sonia Gandhi stated, "I owe whatever I am today to your trust and support. However, due to health and age considerations, I have decided not to contest the next Lok Sabha election." Despite her withdrawal from direct service, she assured the people that her allegiance and affection for them would endure.

Accompanied by family and party leaders, Gandhi submitted her nomination in the state assembly, marking her first foray into the Upper House after five terms as a Lok Sabha member. Notably, she previously declared this Lok Sabha term as her last, sparking speculation about her future plans.

Ramesh questioned the motive behind inaugurating the "incomplete" temple and stated that while Lord Ram is revered by millions, the BJP and RSS have politicized the Ayodhya temple issue.

According to party sources, when the Congress' Central Election Committee (CEC) met under the chairmanship of party chief Mallikarjun Kharge on Wednesday morning, with the Gandhis along with Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and several other senior party leaders present.

The conference, ‘Magalir Urimai Maanadu’, is part of the DMK's centenary celebrations of late party patriarch and former Chief Minister, M. Karunanidhi. In a statement, DMK women’s wing head and MP Kanimozhi Karunanidhi said the conference will demand the Centre to immediately implement the 33 per cent reservation for women.

Speaking in the Lok Sabha on the Women’s Reservation Bill, Dubey, who is BJP MP from Jharkhand’s Godda said, “When the Bill was introduced by their alliance partners, the Congress people beat their own alliance partner MPs in the promotion of the reservation Bill."

Sources said that Sonia Gandhi will lead the party on the long awaited Bill and she will be the main speaker of the Congress for debate on it. Earlier in the day, when asked about the government bringing the Bill in the Lok Sabha, Sonia Gandhi said, "It is ours, 'apna hai'.

"It has been my dream to see the Congress government in Telangana that will work for all sections of our society," she told a huge public meeting organized by the party on the outskirts of Hyderabad at the end of two-day meeting of the Congress Working Committee (CWC) "Are you all going to give us your support," she asked and thousands of people responded with loud cheers.
