Snap said it continues to invest in India through a localised platform experience, local content initiatives and partnerships, and a dedicated focus on regional creators via Spotlight and Stories.

Snap's revenue dropped 7 per cent to $989 million from $1.063 billion during the year-earlier period, while the net loss narrowed from $360 million to $329 million. Free cash flow was $103 million, compared to $106 million in the prior year.Daily active users increased 15 per cent (year-over-year) to 383 million, the company said in a statement.

Initially available only to subscribers, the AI chatbot is now prominently placed at the top of the app's Chat tab, allowing users to ask it questions and receive immediate responses. After discovering some of the potential for misuse of the AI chatbot, the company said it learned people were trying to "trick the chatbot into providing responses that do not conform to our guidelines". A company spokesperson told TechCrunch that four team members from Netherlands-based Th3rd have joined Snap as part of the acquisition.
