Mumbai campaigner Anil Galgali had sought details of the number of raids carried out for narcotics, the quantity seized, its total value, and the persons booked, besides the manner in which the drugs were disposed. "Surprisingly, the NCB - which falls under the Ministry of Home Affairs, has denied the information under RTI Section 24. More so, since the NCB officials themselves here provide so much information through various media outlets and make various claims," Galgali said.

Simultaneously, an aunt of Wankhede, identified as Gunfabai Bhalerao, lodged a complaint against Malik with Aurangabad police seeking atrocity charges against the NCP minister for calling kin "Muslim". She said the Governor also said that the guilty would be punished in this fight between truth and falsehoods, and thanked him for boosting the family's morale.

Malik dismissed Fadnavis' sensational allegations that a Malik-linked company Solidus Investments Pvt. Ltd. (SIPL) had entered into a prime land deal in Goawala Compound, Kurla, at throwaway prices with two alleged associates of the absconder mafia don, Dawood Ibrahim Kaskar.

"One Kashiff Khan had invited me to the party... I don't know him and as far as I know we never spoke on the phone. That invite was like many others I get daily... Since I had no plan to go, I did not inquire further and the matter ended there," Shaikh said. Presently, two agencies -- NCB and Mumbai Police -- are currently probing the entire issue and the truth would come out soon, the minister told mediapersons.

Sanjay Singh is leading the newly constituted Special Investigation Team (SIT) which has been set up to investigate the six cases related to the cruise ship drugs burst including the Aryan Khan case lodged with the Mumbai Zonal office. All further developments and investigations in these cases will be held under Sanjay Singh, the 1996 batch IPS officer.

However, questioned by media persons, Wankhede denied that he had been shifted from the case. Maharashtra Minister Nawab Malik said that Wankhede has been removed from a total of five cases, including the Cordelia Cruise case. "This is just the beginning. A lot more has to be done to clean this system and we will do it," he asserted, adding that there are a total 26 cases that need to be probed.

The Bombay HC has granted them bail on certain conditions which also included the weekly 3-hour attendance with the probe agency on Fridays. Aryan, Munmun, and Arbaaz arrived separately at the NCB office and were quickly taken inside by the top officials present there.  

Compared with cocky original 007, the bespectacled, bearded Malik presents a rather homely, fatherly figure, mostly in comfy kurtas who has taken upon himself to right the alleged wrongs of the Super Sleuth Wankhede. As the stunned NCB and the national polity gaped, the Malik-Wankhede war - which started after the agency's swoop on a luxury cruise ship in which one of those caught was Bollywood megastar Shah Rukh Khan's son, Aryan Khan – became the top TRP catcher.

Wankhede countered this by claiming that a drug peddler had approached his sister who is a lawyer but she declined as she didn't handle narcotics cases. He claimed that the peddler, Salman even tried to trap him and his family and lodged a fake police complaint earlier this year, but nothing came out of it.
