Finance Bill passed in Rajya Sabha

The Bill was "considered and returned" from the Rajya Sabha. The Bill was earlier passed by the Lok Sabha last week amid the opposition sloganeering. The Bill aims to authorise the payment and appropriation of certain sums from and out of the Consolidated Fund of India. Both the Bills were returned to the Lok Sabha without discussion and the House was adjourned for the day.

The sources claimed that Chouhan has expressed his disappointment at the performance of several ministers of his Cabinet and they may be replaced with new faces. A series of discussions has been held in the core committee meetings on this count, and a possible list of ministers has been prepared. The final decision will be taken after obtaining consent from the Centre.

Syed Ali Shah Geelani, who was the patron of the Pakistan-sponsored separatist movement in the valley, died alone with no valley outpouring of grief for him even on his final journey. Leader of opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge said, "The issue of Chinese incursion, foreign policy, changes in Forest Conservation Act and attack on Kashmiri Pandits and Congress leaders need to be discussed in the House." The opposition took up 13 issues in the meeting while the government wants to pass 32 Bills, Kharge said.
India slams OIC-IPHRC's stand on Yasin Malik's life term

Terming the remark "unacceptable", Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said on Friday: "India finds unacceptable the comments made by OIC-IPHRC today criticising India for the judgement in the case of Yasin Malik. Through these comments, OIC-IPHRC has implicitly expressed support for the terrorist activities of Yasin Malik.
