Among these contracts, one was made with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited for the acquisition of aero-engines for MiG-29 aircraft, as per the ministry's statement.

Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari made the remarks while delivering the keynote address at a capstone seminar organised by the IAF and Centre for Air Power Studies. The seminar marked the culmination of the first Warfare and Aerospace Strategy Program (WASP), held at the Air Force Auditorium in New Delhi.

On Thursday, Gen Chauhan attended the IAF Commanders' Conference (AFCC) at Air Headquarters (Vayu Bhavan) where he was briefed about the operational readiness of the IAF. Addressing the IAF Commanders present at the conference, the CDS highlighted the need to chart a clear path towards fleet sustenance.

Commenting on the current situation along the Northern borders, Rajnath Singh expressed full confidence in the Army for any contingency while stating that the ongoing talks for peaceful resolution will continue, and disengagement and de-escalation is the best way forward, a statement noted.
