Haryana's Nuh celebrates I-Day under drone surveillance, heavy security

As a result of the violence, law agencies have beefed up security across the district during the Independence Day celebrations, with state minister Mool Chand Sharma hoisting the Tricolour.
Nuh violence: 44 FIRs & 139 arrests, Haryana Police action continues

Tension prevailed in both districts where police and central forces have been deployed in large numbers to keep the situation under control. The police action was going on against those who indulged and spread the violence that broke out on July 31. So far 44 FIRs have been registered and 139 have been arrested, including 23 on Wednesday night in connection with the Nuh riots.

As communal violence in the Nuh district of Haryana spread to the adjoining Gurugram district, the Kherki Daula police station, where Khan was posted, received frantic calls for help from panic-stricken citizens.
No fresh violence in Gurugram; over 50 arrested

The arrested people also include four individuals who were involved in the killing of an Imam in the Sector 57 area where a mosque was attacked. The suspects have been identified as Ankit, Rahul, Rakesh and Ravinder -- all aged between 23 to 32. They are residents of Tigra village in Gurugram.

The restrictions were lifted from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. to allow people to buy essential items such as food and medicines.

According to the Haryana government, the victims comprised two home guards and four civilians. The district administration also said that 26 FIRs have been filed at different police stations in Nuh in connection to the communal riot that erupted in Nuh on Monday and spread to Gurugram on Tuesday.

Mobile internet services were suspended until Wednesday (August 2) to quell the "intense communal tension", according to the Haryana government. The Brij Mandal Yatra was flagged off earlier from Gurugram's Civil Lines by BJP district president Gargi Kakkar. A police contingent was deployed with the procession.
Gurugram: 'Mob of 100 people attacked mosque'

Izhar told the media that a mob of about 100 people ransacked and set on fire the religious place in Gurugram's Sector 57 area. DCP Nitish Aggarwal has said that Anjuman Jama Masjid located in Sector 57 was set on fire by the mob.  "We have identified some of the accused and action will be taken soon," he said.
