Just about every Apple device bar the Apple Pencil can play music or some kind of audio, and most of them have microphones, reports AppleInsider. The tech giant wants to use those microphones, and very many other sensors, to determine whether you are paying attention.

According to data shared by analytics company Mixpanel, iOS 16, released this week, is installed on an estimated 11.6 per cent of iPhones two days after it launched. When iOS 15 was released last year, it was installed on just 8.5 per cent of devices at the two-day mark, which means people are installing iOS 16 at a more rapid pace this year, reports MacRumors.
Apple to allow iPhone users to remove security patches in iOS 16
The Rapid Security Response system in iOS 16 can install security patches without fully updating your iPhone, or even without having to restart it, in some cases. By default, Rapid Security Responses are installed automatically, but Apple has implemented a way to remove them, reports MacRumors. According to a support document, the user can remove a Rapid Security Response update by going to Settings, General and About, then tapping tapping Remove Security Update.
Apple delays iCloud shared photo library launch with iOS 16
Apple webpage now lists the feature as "coming later this year." Furthermore, it has also removed it from the latest iOS 16 betas, reports AppleInsider. Apple announced iCloud Shared Photo Library as part of iOS 16 to release on September 12. When it is launched, the feature will let you and up to five other people automatically share a collection of photos.

According to AppleInsider, the tech giant's expected fourth generation iPhone SE will effectively be a reworked iPhone XR. The prediction made by leaker Jon Prosser is most likely just a sensible extrapolation of Apple's prior designs for the iPhone SE, the report said. To produce the less expensive iPhone SE model, Apple likes to modify the hardware from previous models slightly.
Apple releases software updates for iOS, iPadOS to fix 2 security bugs
The two vulnerabilities were found in WebKit, the browser engine that powers Safari and other apps, and the kernel, essentially the operating system's core. The two flaws affect iOS, iPadOS and macOS Monterey, report TechCrunch. The tech giant said the WebKit bug could be exploited if a vulnerable device accessed or processed "maliciously crafted web content (that) may lead to arbitrary code execution".

According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, components from SG Micro have passed quality certification for the high-end iPhone 14 models, indicating that the Chinese company has been greenlighted to supply components for the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. SG Micro specialises in integrated circuits, and Apple will use its power management integrated circuitry in the upcoming iPhones, reports MacRumors.
