The arrest of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal by the Enforcement Directorate on March 21, in connection with a money-laundering case related to the now-defunct Delhi excise policy, prompted the Lieutenant Governor to call for discussions on the governance of the city. However, the ministers declined the invitation citing the presence of the model code of conduct.

Officials reported that Kumar provided his statement under the regulations of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). Additionally, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Durgesh Pathak has also been summoned for questioning in the same case.

The BJP intensified its attack on Kejriwal on two specific fronts: the "Sharab" case related to the excise policy and the "Sheeshmahal" case concerning the renovation of the Chief Minister’s residence.

Expressing his dismay, Sandhu referred to a video featuring Sunita Kejriwal, wife of the Delhi CM, where an image of Arvind Kejriwal was displayed alongside Bhagat Singh and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. Sandhu vehemently opposed this comparison, stating, "I felt awful after watching this. An attempt was made to compare him with the legends, I would ask the Aam Aadmi Party to refrain from such activities."

Recently, the court had remanded Kejriwal to judicial custody until April 15 in connection with a money laundering case linked to an alleged excise policy scam. In his plea, Kejriwal had requested access to three books—Bhagavad Gita, Ramayana, and How Prime Ministers Decide.

"CM Kejriwal has conveyed a message for all AAP MLAs. Despite my absence, it's imperative that the people of Delhi do not encounter any issues. Each MLA should actively engage with their respective localities, assess the problems faced by residents, and strive to resolve their grievances," she conveyed.

Emphasizing the primacy of national interest over personal agendas, the court underscored that while individual concerns are important, they must yield to the greater good of the nation. Acting Chief Justice Manmohan and Justice Manmeet PS Arora iterated that as a court of law, their mandate is to adhere to legal principles. 

Singh lambasted the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), accusing them of attempting to dismantle the AAP and spreading tyranny across the nation. Reflecting on his six-month stint behind bars, he praised the unwavering support of AAP members, from grassroots activists to top leaders, for Kejriwal. He reiterated that the AAP's foundation lies in grassroots movements, emphasizing their fearlessness in the face of adversity.
