This comes after the ICC team is expected to visit Pakistan in the coming weeks to assess the state of preparations for the Champions Trophy to be held in Pakistan next year.
According to Sports Tak, the ICC delegation is likely to visit Pakistan within the next ten days and inspect the preparedness with regards to the tournament along with all other aspects. After their visit, it is believed that the ICC will announce the schedule of the tournament along with ticket sales.
The PCB had, earlier this year, sanctioned Rs 12.80 billion for the renovation of the three main venues that will host the tournament: Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, National Stadium in Karachi and Rawalpindi International Cricket Stadium.
However, a cloud of uncertainty continues over India's participation in the tournament. BCCI will finalize its participation in accordance with the directions from the Central government.
Meanwhile, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has said that talks with the BCCI over their presence in Champions Trophy are still underway. "Champions Trophy will be held in Pakistan, we are in touch with the boards of the teams participating in the tournament," he told Geo News.
He further said, "We are in touch with Jay Shah; there is no concern about his ICC Chairman-ship. The ACC meeting is on September 8 and 9. I will not be able to attend the meeting and Salman Nasir will attend. The meeting will finalise matters regarding the new president."
BCCI Secretary Jay Shah, who assumed office as ICC Chairman last month will have to give up his presidency of the ACC and his post in the BCCI. Last year, India refused to travel to Pakistan during the Asia Cup with its games being held in Colombo, Sri Lanka while the rest of the competition was held in Pakistan.
