Kalyan Krishnamurthy is the Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Flipkart, the leading online retail company. He took the charge as the CEO of the company in 2018.
Before joining Flipkart, Krishnamurthy reportedly worked in eBay’s Asia finance operations for nearly seven years. He also worked for Tiger Global as its finance director in 2011. An e-commerce veteran, Kalyan was also a part of Procter and Gamble in its Supply Chain Finance business.
In 2013, Krishnamurthy joined Flipkart and worked as its interim chief financial officer. Later, he had a bitter fallout with Sachin Bansal - co-founder of Flipkart, and Kalyan abruptly left the company. In 2016, he returned to the company and replaced Binny Bansal as chief executive officer (CEO) in January 2017.
In both his stints at Flipkart, he helped turn around Flipkart, he is known for being good at fixing things. Kalyan has proved over the years that he has a vision and focus to drive the company's growth and operations across the country.
At Flipkart, Krishnamurthy has been leading various charters since his association with the company in 2016.

Under his leadership, the company has expanded into significant new categories like Grocery and Fintech and launched iconic innovations like voice assistant and regional language interfaces."
Born on 12 January 1972, Kalyan Krishnamurthy holds an MBA from the Asian Institute of Management, Philippines. He lives in Bengaluru with his wife Soumya Narayanan. The couple is blessed with two daughters. Kalyan is an avid reader and practices yoga.
