Ferrari says 60% of its lineup will be electrified by 2026

The carmaker said that by 2026 Ferrari targets a well-diversified product portfolio, composed of 60 per cent hybrid and fully electric and 40 per cent ICE in terms of the number of models. "Our brand fuels the dreams of millions. It has been built up over 75 years of thrilling, memorable experiences, through success on the track and sheer driving pleasure on the road," John Elkann, Ferrari Chairman, said in a statement.

Nearly 70% of car crashes linked to 'self-driving' in US were Tesla: Report

According to Engadget, the US NHTSA released data on 10 months of crashes between July 1, 2021 to May 15, 2022, involving cars with automated components. The report mentioned that out of 392 crashes, 273 were Tesla vehicles using Autopilot or the Full Self-Driving (FSD) beta. Honda cars were tied to 90 incidents, while Subaru models were involved in 10. Other makes, including Ford, GM, VW and Toyota, had five incidents or less.

The battery safety defect may render the vehicle immobile. The malfunction involves a potential overheating of the vehicle's battery high-voltage contactors, which can lead the vehicle to fail to start or lose power while in motion, reports CNBC. "An overheated contactor that opens while driving can result in a loss of motive power, which can increase the risk of an accident," according to the Ford notice.
