The Aam Aadmi Party, at the same time, has said that, following all procedure, Atishi will henceforth stay in the CM House. She had joined the office last month after Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal resigned. He had been arrested in the Delhi liquor scam.

Delhi Chief Minister Atishi formally shifted into the Chief Minister's residence, Civil Lines, yesterday. Earlier, it had been the residence of former CM Arvind Kejriwal. On Monday, Atishi had her first meeting at the residence, interacting with employees and officials working there.

Kejriwal, who has since shifted to a bungalow on Feroz Shah Road in Lutyens Delhi, which has been allotted to Aam Aadmi Party's Rajya Sabha member from Punjab Ashok Mittal, said that he plans to take his case of charges against him in the alleged liquor scam to the people's court.

Arvind Kejriwal vacated his official residence on Friday. A formal prayer ceremony was conducted at the government residence on Feroz Shah Road before he and his family moved into the new house.

Two main tasks Atishi has been handed by the AAP are her mandates: one, to see that Kejriwal becomes Chief Minister of Delhi once again, and two, to make sure that other government flagship initiatives-based on free electricity, water, and accessible healthcare for all-actually work.

Earlier, Atishi shared the same AB-17 bungalow with her parents in south Delhi's Kalkaji while former deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia vacated it last week and shifted to the official residence of Rajya Sabha MP Harbhajan Singh on RP Road.

At an earlier press conference on Monday, CM Atishi, along with ex-CM Arvind Kejriwal, said the AAP government would begin repairing works for 89 damaged roads in the national Capital, which it had recently found during its inspection. She said that repair works in the city's roads will be completed before the Assembly Elections, scheduled to take place early next year.
