Meher Pudumjee is the chairperson of Thermax Limited, a Pune-based engineering firm. Meher with her mother and former chairperson of Thermanx, Anu Aga are named in the list of the 'Leading Wealthy Women 2021’ report, released by Kotak Private Banking and Hurun India. Anu Aga and Meher Pudumjee have a net worth of 14,530 crore .
Pudumjee joined Thermax in 1990, in 1996 she was appointed on the Board of Directors, in 2001 she became a non-executive director and the next year in 2002, she was appointed Vice Chairperson of the company. On October 5, 2004, Pudumjee took over as the chairperson on October 5, 2004, after her mother Anu Aga's retirement.
Under her leadership, Pudumjee focused on expanding the business into overseas markets. She has set up a manufacturing unit in Indonesia. At Thermax she has been involved in treasury and working capital management functions of the company.
She has been the pride of our country and has represented India at the Asian Business Women’s Conference in Osaka in 2006.
In 2008, at the World Economic Forum, Pudumjee was selected as a Young Global Leader for her professional accomplishment, commitment to society and potential to contribute to shaping the future of the world.
In 2009 Pudumjee was named as the CEO of the Year, by Business Standard.
Meher is also the chairperson of Akanksha Foundation, a trustee of Teach to Lead in Mumbai, she is also on the Board of Imperial College India Foundation, Shakti Sustainable Solutions, and Pune City Connect.
Meher Pudumjee was born in Pune, Maharashtra. Meher did her post graduation in chemical engineering from the Imperial College of Science and Technology, London. She is married to Pheroz Pudumjee, an MBA and Director of Thermax.
