Petroleum Secretary Tarun Kapoor told IANS that the ministry was taking approvals for segregating the existing gas pipeline infrastructure to identify the portion of the infrastructure that will need to support common carriers.

Wholesale inflation eases to 1.2% in December

Petrol, diesel rise 25p/ltr on second consecutive day, reach new highs
In the national capital, petrol was sold at the new record high level of Rs 84.70 from previous days Rs 84.45 a litre while diesel prices increased to Rs 74.88 per litre as against Rs 74.64 a litre a day earlier. Across the country as well pump price of petrol and diesel increased on Wednesday but the quantum varied depending on the prevailing tax structure in each state.

Heavy selling pressure was witnessed in IT and metal stocks. Around 10.20 a.m., Sensex was trading at 49,292.97, lower by 199.35 points or 0.40 per cent from its previous close of 49,492.32 points. It opened at 49,432.83 and has touched an intra-day high of 49,487.86 and a low of 49,182.37 points.
